These Edwardian earrings with Tahitian pearls and diamonds in antique style are crafted in 18k white gold, weigh 7.4g and measure 37mm long, 15mm wide and 11mm deep. Reminiscent of the classic flair and refinement of the distinct Edwardian style of earrings, these alluring pendent ear- adornments expose a pair of intriguing round Tahitian pearls measuring 11mm in diameter, graded 'metallic gray' color. These eye-catching lustrous pearls are capped in enchanting rosettes suspending diamond-enveloped elongated marquise-profiles by means of delicate ringlets. This captivating assemblage of diamonds and Tahitian pearls suspend 'en tremblant' from alluring ribbon-bow silhouettes rendered in the characteristic Edwardian garland style and swathed in glowing diamonds. The bejeweled surfaces of these earrings are cumulatively bead-set with 0.24cts of full-cut diamonds graded H-K color and VS clarity, complemented by 0.20cts of collet-mounted full-cut diamonds graded K color and VS clarity range, constituting the alluring ribbon-bow knots. These Edwardian style earrings of outstanding aesthetic beauty feature immaculate mille grain application throughout and well-constructed posts and butterfly clasps designed exclusively for pierced ears.

In broad terms, pearls fall into the two general categories of freshwater and saltwater pearls. Tahitian pearls are one of the three types of salt-water pearls besides Akoya and South Sea pearls. Although traditionally called 'black' pearls, the color of Tahitian pearls can range from a metallic silver to the color of graphite, and with this range of colors they can have bluish, purplish or greenish overtones. Tahitian pearls are cultivated from the black-lipped variety of the 'Pinctada Maxima' oyster whose size can reach a foot or more in diameter, producing considerably large pearls. The oyster's excessive sensitivity to the culturing process renders the production of Tahitian pearls extremely difficult and costly resulting in their relatively high prices.
