Please note that this is essentially a wholesale site and as such, we are dedicated to selling at competitive prices. If you want a full-refund on your purchase, I might suggest you look for a retail-site. They will also give you a 'story' with your purchase.

SPECIAL ORDERS: Every item of jewelry that is ordered is non-returnable & non-refundable due to the fact that it is made to order. For this reason, please check that all your diamond measurements are accurate and the settings are made to fit the diamond you have in mind.

Items purchased below $2,000

We will be happy to issue a store credit for any item that you are not entirely delighted with that you have purchased for under $2,000. Please call us within 24 hours of receiving the jewelry to let us know that you would like to return the item. We permit an additional 24 hours (48 hours if received on a Saturday) to ship it fully insured, in perfect condition, in the original box. A credit will be issued that may be used at any time.

Items purchased over $2,000

We offer a full refund less a $200 restocking fee. Please call us within 24 hours of receiving the jewelry to let us know that you would like to return the item. We permit an additional 24 hours (48 hours if received on a Saturday) to ship it fully insured, in perfect condition, in the original box. A refund will be sent within 2 business days, less shipping, any sizing charges and the restocking fee.

JEWELRY REPAIRS: Please note that any item of jewelry purchased from us is no longer guaranteed by Fay Cullen Inc. when a jeweler not employed by us has worked on it. This applies to stone setting, ring sizing and any major or minor repairs.

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES?

Option number 1: RING SIZING

Some jewelers size rings by stretching and soldering, other jewelers size rings by insetting and welding. It is much easier and cheaper for a jeweler to stretch a shank to increase a ring size, it saves money by not having to add any gold or platinum and precious metals are expensive, even in very small quantities. Other jewelers inset the equivalent of the size required to enlarge the ring, in so doing neither thinning the metal nor reducing the integrity of the ring.

MAY I BARGAIN?

Some rings cannot be sized, such as some irregular eternity rings, enameled rings, rings with stones near the sizing area that respond poorly to heat, and rings that need to be sized either up or down so much that to do so would compromise the integrity of the mounting. We always list the size of our rings and in our description where you will find details as to whether or not they are easily sizable. Where it is not possible to size a ring, the ring size is mentioned below the thumb-nail picture.

WHAT IS A GIA APPRAISER?

G.I.A. is an abbreviation of Gemological Institute of America. This institute supports a standard of identifying the color, cut and clarity of diamonds in order for us to compare stones. With a little research you will understand this form of grading. Knowing what quality and shade of diamond you will be happy with is your first step in procuring your diamond.

WHAT ITEMS ARE REDUCED?

Our system of inventory rotation here at Fay Cullen Inc. has been developed over the course of the last 20 years wholesaling experience. After being listed on our site for 6 months, every item of jewelry is automatically discounted. To be notified of 'Discount Days', please be sure to subscribe to our Newsletter or Priority Viewing and you will be given the first opportunity to review our discounts. Because we sell to the trade in addition to the public, it is imperative to have a fresh selection of jewelry every month to replenish the items that have sold. If you are on our Newlsletter or if you have registered for Priority Viewing, you will already have experienced how much and how often we upload new stock onto our site, ranging between 150- 250 items each month. After the first reduction, you will be notified of consecutive 'Discount Days' by means of our monthly Newsletter or through Priority Viewing. I'm sorry but we do not accept offers at this time. By this method, everyone benefits.

WHEN DOES MY CHECK CLEAR?

When a check is debited from your account and credited to our account, it makes us very happy ! If we wanted, we could spend all day on the phone to the bank asking if individual checks have cleared, however, some banks, in the interest of security, don't supply this information. In addition to this, just because our account has been credited, it doesn't mean that your check has been cleared. In the interest of time, we ask you to allow 7 working days for check clearance, just as our bank indicates. Of course, if you would like to avoid the wait, you could take a trip to the bank yourself and purchase a cashier’s check which we treat as cash. There is no clearance and no 7 days wait. This speeds things up for you considerably and avoids the necessity of you having to call with your banking details. You may even like to send it overnight, this will speed up the process even more. Please understand that your ring will be sized and/or shipped the minute your payment has cleared so you do not need to ‘bug’ us. It is in our interest to ship your ring as soon as absolutely possible.

DO YOU HAVE A LAYAWAY PLAN?

Fay Cullen Inc. offers a 60 day Layaway Plan for all those desperately trying to disguise their credit card jewelry expenditure! By means of small payments
over a maximum period of 60 days, clients can make their monthly jewelry budget look much more comforting. Please note that there are no returns accepted
on Layaway items.

Layaways are accepted for items purchased between $1,000 and $4,999.

Please note that all items purchased through layaway are non-returnable and non-refundable.

LAYAWAY FOR THE MATHEMATICALLY IMPAIRED!

  1. Simply add the charges for Ring Sizing and Shipping to the cost of your purchase.
  2. Divide the total by three.
  3. Date each of the three checks with to-days date.
  4. Write the date to be deposited on the back of each check. The first check to be deposited will have today's date. The second check will be dated one month
    from today and the third check will be dated two months from today.
  5. Send them all to us in one envelope to arrive within 5 days of committing to your purchase.

Sorry but we cannot hold unsecured items for longer than 5 days. On the sixth day, items are no longer held in the 'Pending Payment' category.

If you live anywhere other than the US and you wish to use our Layaway Plan, you are very welcome to do so by sending us a cashiers' check for three
consecutive months to arrive before the date specified (30 days from the date of your first payment). Otherwise you are welcome to pay by wire transfer,
we do however, pass on a $30 wire transfer fee for each wire transfer.

WHAT DOES 'STYLE' MEAN?

This is the term we apply to any item of jewelry we believe was not made during the era the style represents. We use the word 'style' in our item titles only, the page and small item titles are too short to accept this many characters. We are sorry if this is inconvenient for you but even internet functioning has some drawbacks.

Because there are insufficient original period rings, especially engagement rings to supply the increasing demand for aesthetic and unique styles of engagement ring, we offer a wide selection of engagement rings made in the Art Deco and Edwardian styles.

Our rigorously quality controlled engagement rings are almost impossible to discern from the original, often being mounted with European-cut mele in addition to an old mine-cut, European-cut or Rose-cut diamond center-stone. The superior quality of workmanship is identical and indiscernible from an original antique ring, except for the fact that the integrity of a recently made ring can be safely vouched for by Fay Cullen Inc. We mount these attractive engagement rings, which we are very confident to sell for constant and heavy wear, with antique-cut diamonds, old mine-cut and European-cut diamonds to equate the demand with supply. HOW DO I ORDER?

Please check first on the availability of the item(s) you are interested in by emailing us with the reference number or speaking to Max, Edward, John or Monica on Monday to Friday 9-6 EST.

Then be sure you make it 'crystal' clear that you wish to purchase the item by reference number so it is 'held' in your name for 5 days. Until you have received an email saying that is 'SOLD' to you OR you have signed and returned your completed credit card approval form, the ring is still available for purchase to the first buyer.

The minute you decide to buy something, immediately send us an email or call us with the reference number. Our hard and fast rule is 'FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED' and there are no exceptions. If speed is a consideration, consider these options:
If you want to receive your purchase 'yesterday', OVERNIGHT A CASHIER'S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER and we can ship the following day, overnight if required. There is an additional FEDEX charge for this.

If you would like your ring to be sized, (see appropriate question), please note that we will not make arrangements for it to picked up by the jeweler until your PAYMENT HAS CLEARED.

PLEASE ALLOW 5 DAYS FOR ALL RING SIZINGS

CHECKS sometimes take longer than expected to clear. Be sure to note that even though the funds have been taken out of your account and been posted to ours, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT HAS CLEARED. Checks have been taking up to 10 working days to clear. So if you are in any kind of hurry, please save yourself the time and unnecessary worry by sending a money order or cashiers' check. Those of you who have done business with us, know that STOCK IS SHIPPED OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, 'safe-space' is a big consideration here!

Our hard and fast CREDIT CARD RULE is $2,000 per order maximum. I don't care who you are, (and yes mother, this applies to you too, even though I am your first born), we will not accept more than $2,000 per sale on your credit card. DO YOU PURCHASE JEWELRY?

If you are considering selling an item of jewelry and you have an appraisal, a picture or two and a certificate from GIA, EGL, etc, this it makes life a little easier! If you do not have any of these items, it's a little trickier but still possible. The more information that you are able to provide for us, the more time and money you will save yourself. If you have no pictures, you are welcome to send a fax and if you have no certificate from an external body, we will need to view the stone prior to purchase. If you are not in a hurry, the best way to realize the fairest price is to sell it on faycullen.com through Fay Cullen Inc., you won't be guaranteed a sale date but you will be guaranteed that your jewelry sells at the fairest market price. This is due to the fact that it has constant 24 hour online exposure which inevitably means a faster turnover.

If you need to sell for cash, now, we do purchase directly from the public on occasion but this tends to be too time consuming and customers aren't always aware that retail stores work on a 300% margin.

DO YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS ITEM?

Most of our purchases are made from dealers who buy from the public. Our average purchases tend to be six figures, so in answer to requests for additional information, provenance, history or previous owners, we're very sorry but we are unable to supply this kind of personal information that may be more readily available at your local antique jewelry store when you make your purchase from them. We do try to add all the available information at the time of description writing but if there is a specific question you have that we may have omitted, we will do our best to answer it for you. Where the name or country is specified, please note that this is verifiable information deriving from any touch-marks, hallmarks, signatures or other authenticated ways of identifying either the maker or the country of origin.

DO YOU SELL LOOSE DIAMONDS?

Since the introduction of our 'Ring Settings' pages, we have added a Diamond Database so feel free to browse away, it is updated weekly and the turnover is pretty fast so if you find 'the ideal' stone for your requirements, please contact us to ascertain its immediate availability.

Some of our ring settings are only sold with the purchase of one of our diamonds, the reason being that the center-stone requires mounting prior to the setting of the bordering stones.

If you are looking to pair one of our Loose Certified Diamonds with one of our Ring Settings, please bear in mind the dimensions of the stone and the limitations of the mounting.

Please note that we do not supply custom ring settings for Cushion-cut, Oval, Heart-shaped or Marquise Diamonds due to the possible irregularities of the setting. We will however customize ring settings for these shapes if they are purchased from Fay Cullen Inc. This way we have the stone present during the manufacture of the setting for a perfect fit.

Loose Diamond List

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A STONE:
These are several constructive suggestions for you, aimed at successful project completion.

FIRST, make sure you have a COMPETENT jeweler, familiar with working in gold and platinum who will be amenable to mounting your stone in our setting.

SECOND, ensure he has INSURANCE that covers the setting of your diamond. If he hasn't, please understand that he's not responsible for anything that might happen to your stone and there may be a disclaimer on his wall.

THIRD, ask him exactly how much he charges to set your stone in our setting before you leave your diamond to prevent an unbudgeted shock when you pick it up (some jewelers refuse to take the responsibility for setting expensive stones as most of them aren't covered by insurance). If he does have insurance, be prepared to pay him approximately $300 to set your diamond. Jewelry insurance is expensive and if he's handling high value goods that could be damaged, it will be necessary for him to pass on this charge to you.

You may welcome expert advice from Gerard or Max regarding your needs. This eliminates the possibility of; what if it doesn't fit; why wasn't it set straight; why did a side-stone fall out; the appraisal is so high, it's going to dramatically increase my Homeowners Insurance payment; why is the jeweler charging me $300 to set a stone? It also saves a great deal of time and money that might otherwise be spent coordinating with several different parties to successfully procure a diamond, a setting, a jeweler, an appraiser and an Extended Jewelry Care Plan. Any idea how many disaster stories we have heard where the settel couldn't set the diamond, set it poorly or told our client that the stone was too small or too big for the ring setting...and then time ran out! The time it takes to find a ring setting, a diamond, a ring box, a jeweler and an appraiser is considerable. We eliminate this time-intensive search by offering you a very competitively priced package to entirely eliminate the labor intensive option of shopping elsewhere!

WHAT IF A STONE FALLS OUT?

In the highly unlikely event that a stone falls out of any item of jewelry you purchase from us within the first 7 days of ownership, with your consent, we will appoint FedEx to collect your pre-wrapped package and return it to us fully insured. Assuming that the item has not suffered an obvious grievous misdemeanor, we will gladly replace and reset the missing stone. Your ring will be quickly restored to its original condition and shipped back to you post-haste fully insured with FedEx.

Although we make every effort to 'persuade' any loose stones to fall out while they are in our possession during our Quality Control process, occasionally a ten minute dip in the ultrasonic and 90lbs of steam pressure are not enough to do what you and FedEx are capable of! Due to the fact that we subject our jewelry to such stringent tests during our Quality Control process, it should always arrive in perfect condition. Jewelry is by nature, an expensive commodity; therefore we strongly recommend insuring all your jewelry with an Established and Reliable Insurance Company or add your purchase to your Home-owners Policy. We do send a complimentary appraisal with every purchase over $1,000 for this very reason. It is not sent to impress you as to how big your savings was, neither is it to use as a drawer liner, it is for you to give to your insurance agent to cover you in the event of loss or damage.

SHOULD I BUY JEWELRY INSURANCE ?

1) Purchase your item of jewelry.

2) Wait for your appraisal to arrive.

3) Insure your jewelry on your home owners’ policy or any other policy you wish to take out.

4) Wear your jewelry with the knowledge that it is safe.

WHAT IS PRIORITY VIEWING?

Every month, we add new items of jewelry to our site.

If you have registered for Priority Viewing, you will be sent a direct link to a page connected to our site that is not available to the W.W.Web for up to 48 hours. This gives you a small advantage in the event that you are considering an important purchase. However, please bare in mind that some of the names on our list are serious dealers and they do buy!

In fact, this is the time we generate most unhappy customers! If we receive an email requesting information it is not considered a sale. If we receive an email of praise or informing us that you are in love with a particular item, it is not considered to be a sale. If you request a ring size or verification on a period or a style, it is not considered to be a sale, if you request bank wiring information, it is still not considered to be a sale.

A sale is when you click on the link directly below the price that reads 'Order This Item'. Thinking about it, considering it, perusing the possibility of making the purchase, or even a comment reflecting your fiancé's delight at a particular item, does not constitute a sale.

DO I PAY SALES TAX?

Anyone receiving a package shipped to a Florida address will incur 7% sales tax.

WHAT DOES 'SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE' MEAN?

This is the estimated retail value and the agreed upon appraisal price.

WILL MY PURCHASE BE APPRAISED?

If you are spending $1,000 or more on any item of jewelry, you will receive an appraisal to allow you the option of insuring your jewelry.

If you are spending less than $1,000 on any item of jewelry, it will not be accompanied by an appraisal. However, if you wish to purchase an appraisal for any item you are purchasing from us for less than $1,000, the price is $50.

WHAT DOES 'YOUR PRICE' MEAN?

'Your Price' applies to customers spending $5,000 or less.

WHAT DOES 'WHOLESALE PRICE' MEAN?

When we put up this site, our aim was to 'sell the highest-quality, fastest-turnover jewelry at the most competitive prices, with the best pictures and the greatest amount of human contact possible'. Think of us as a store named ‘Customer Service’’.

Do you know what a 'hacker' is ? Do you know how he spends his time doing ?

He's trying to access so called 'secure-sites' amongst other things and would particularly like your credit card number. Think of a site termed 'secure' with the illusion of a condom ! There really isn't any guarantee, you are just gambling on the odds. It appears to be safe, it is advertised as safe and it gives you the feeling of protection, but we all know better than that ! DON'T TRUST THE ILLUSION OF SECURITY ON THE INTERNET. We don't.

For this reason, not only are we acting in your interest by advising you not to promote the details of your credit card number on the internet, but further protect you by suggesting that any credit card information you supply us with should be faxed. So far we have no knowledge of faxing-hackers!

WHAT IS YOUR SPECIAL ORDER POLICY?

Any item of jewelry that is a Special Order is non-returnable & non-refundable, the fact that it is made to order, keeps our prices low. Our Royal Collection of engagement ring settings is subject to a 25% restocking fee if the ring setting is made for a calibrated size stone. If a Special Order is a specific ring size that has never been made before, a mold will need to be hand-carved. This process takes additional time and a great deal of labor, so please be patient and understand that this job is partly executed for us as a favor due to the fact that the additional time it takes to custom-make a mold will not enable the first order to be financially viable for the manufacturer. While we try to quote you as accurate an ETA as possible, we cannot be responsible for late delivery of Special Orders because we are not manufacturers. While we do everything in our power to ensure our customers are happy with every order we fill, our ETA is only guidance to assist you in planning.
Please be sure to leave sufficient time to have the ring of your dreams manufactured and if you have already left it too late, contact the Ring Settings Department and ask if Expedited Service is available on the item that you would like to order.

Please note that we are very sorry but we do not accept credit card payments from International customers and yes, Nigeria and Indonesia, this includes you.

MAY I UPGRADE OR SELL AN ITEM I PURCHASED FROM YOU?

If you purchased an item of jewelry from Fay Cullen Inc. that you wish to sell, we will be happy to return it to our site for between $250- $500 and we will deduct 10% of the selling price when it sells. Please note that we cannot guarantee when it will sell but the average expected time would be 6 months.

Domestic Shipping FEDEX
When you make a domestic purchase, we will quote you for FEDEX fully insured 2nd Day and Overnight shipping (shipping times may vary during holiday season depending on destination). Please understand that we cannot guarantee the delivery date due to delivery time factors such as the weather, which is considered by shippers to be 'An Act of God' which does not merit a refund by any carrier. Once your package has shipped, you will receive an email both from FedEx and from Fay Cullen Inc. with a shipping confirmation the same day your package has been shipped. Please note that your FedEx package will be sent from ‘FCI’. In accordance with Fay Cullen Inc. security procedures, your package will be distinctively sealed both externally and internally to immediately alert you to tampering. We recommend that you do not sign for your package until
you have opened the outer FedEx package to ensure the contents are intact.

Domestic Shipping USPS
We do offer USPS Domestic shipping but here is no financial saving to you because it is a great deal less convenient for us.

International Shipping by FEDEX & USPS
All international shipments are fully insured against loss, accompanied by a Fay Cullen Inc. invoice. You may be required to pay import duty and import tax to your government through 'Customs and Excise' which regulates the rate of tax levied on specific items when they reach an international port of entry. Exactly how much your country charges to import specific items, you will need to contact them to ascertain.

Our reigning ‘Royal Collection’ line of Branded Engagement Ring Settings is individually crowned and named, for each one inspired by Art Deco or Edwardian styles and every one has a completely different personality. Mounted only with high quality European-cut diamonds graded H/I color and VS/SI clarity, these ring settings are hand-made by master-craftsmen in both platinum and 18k white gold, alloyed with palladium for a lifetime of tarnish-free brilliance. The diamond you selected has been appraised by an external body of recognized appraisers such as GIA, EGL, AGT, ETC. and their independent appraisal will accompany your purchase.

EXTENDED JEWELRY CARE PLAN

Our Extended Jewelry Care Plan is specifically designed for your peace of mind.

REPAIRS AND SERVICES THAT ARE COVERED:

This Extended Care Jewelry Plan covers all inspections, cleaning if required and Covered Repairs and Services to the jewelry included in this Plan. Covered Repairs and Services to the jewelry include the parts and labor necessary to correct problems which occur during normal usage of the jewelry, consistent with the conditions for which it was designed and manufactured. Depending on the particular items of jewelry for which the Plan coverage is purchased, it will include re-sizing, ring re-shaping, provision and re-setting of small diamonds* or pearl re-stringing, clasp repair, broken chain repair, repair of worn or broken prongs, repair of broken earring posts or other similar repairs.

* The number and size will be dependent on the attitude of the customer.

CONDITIONS THAT ARE NOT COVERED:

Jewelry that has been damaged as a result of excessive or abusive treatment, or that has been repaired by a store other than Fay Cullen Inc. is not covered by this Extended Care Plan. This Plan also does not cover the shipping cost, loss or theft of this item of jewelry, damage resulting to the jewelry from loss, theft or Act of God, or any consequential damages, or loss of use resulting from the broken or damaged jewelry, or from any delay in our repairing the jewelry.

What if a Center-Stone Falls Out?

Hopefully our reputation is partly the reason you have chosen to shop with us.

Our center-stones don't just 'fall-out' but trust me, in 25 years, I've heard everything from nuclear to radioactive! For this reason, I would highly recommend that you don't wear your jewelry until you have Fully Insured it to withstand waste disposal accidents, car-door accidents and even hurricanes and earthquakes in the event you can find an atheistic Insurance Company that doesn't recognize Acts of God.
