This antique
Georgian Ring with garnets and seed pearls, most probably of European origin, is crafted in and stamped 18ct yellow gold, weighs exactly 2g and measures 11mm wide and 3.5mm deep. Epitomizing the classically distinct
Georgian Jewelry style, this authentic Georgian ring of captivating aesthetic appeal is designed as a stylized lozenge plaque, embellished with a delicately scalloped perimeter. The highly ornate lozenge panel exposes an eye-catching floret, centered with an 'antique-cream' colored half seed-pearl measuring 2.5mm in diameter, surrounded by a cluster of rose-cut garnets. The latter represents colorful 'petals' of the alluring floret measuring between 2.5mm and 3mm in diameter are graded 'brownish-red' color and 'fair' clarity. A duo of matching color half seed pearls flanking the absorbing floret complements the adornment of the stylized lozenge panel. The vivacious garnets and the temptingly delicate organic gems are mounted within foil-backed settings as were mounted all precious stones throughout the Georgian and early Victorian eras, enabling the goldsmiths to enhance and modify the color of stones. This authentic Georgian ring features a meticulously crafted gallery incorporating delicate scrolls, a highly ornate yellow gold band embellished with florally themed repoussé work and an easily sizable shank stamped with the purity mark '18CT' within a rectangular cartouche.
