This vintage Retro diamond ring is crafted in solid 18k yellow gold, weighs 12.2g and measures 17mm wide and 10mm deep. This captivating ring of massive and highly ornate aesthetic epitomizes a late 1940's popular design, associated with 'the cocktail hour’ which had become a fashionable element in society entertainment of the postwar decade. Colored gold with diamonds or rubies or often a combination thereof were in vogue and whenever precious stones were not available in abundance, semi-precious stones were used as alternatives. This extravagant Retro cocktail ring is designed as an absorbing, multiple-layered 'en diagonal' plaque of stylized, pentagonal format and a delicately scalloped upper rim. This elaborately designed plaque, depicting a multi-viewed pyramid, is cumulatively bead-set with 0.28cts of modern brilliant-cut diamonds graded G-H color and VS1 clarity, complemented by 0.52cts of full-cut diamonds graded G-H color and VS1 clarity. These glowing, variously cut precious stones are appreciatively mounted in trefoil 'en diagonal' alignment adorning the center and the side borders of the pentagonal plaque. A quadrangular, diamond adorned profile complements the bejeweled surfaces of this enticing vintage Retro diamond ring. Broad and tapering shoulders descend to merge into a svelte yellow gold band and an easily sizable shank stamped '750' denoting the purity mark for 18k yellow gold.
